News coverage from the outside

Each day I scan through the news of the world and see where our church "pops" up. As you can imagine, we are quite the newsmaker right now! It is unfortunate (from my perspective) to see so much coverage limited the issue of sexuality. Of course, it is a big player in this year's GC but it would be nice to see equal time given to all the big issues or events. Even so, the Windsor Report will be the hot button topic of outside news sources.

The U2 Eucharist (aka U2charist) is great example of people coming together under a common cause. I was lucky enough to attend one in Providence and it is an amazing way to bring together generations of people in both a new and familiar format. Other stories out of Columbus include The ONE Episcopalian campaign, MGD's, Middle East issues, Changes to the Book of Common Prayer, or for lat matter ANY of the listed events under Scott's previous posting "More than sex talk..."

News Coverage from Outside the Church

The Cincinatti Enquirer has some postive coverage of all the volunteers working at convention.

Reuters news covers some of the more global issues facing the Episcopal Church.

BBC coverage indicates current General Convention may be most important meeting in the history of the Epsicopal Church.

Associated Press coverage indicates that British church leaders are laying on the pressure during this General Convention.

The Washington Times has an interesting article about issues in the church being played out online, through (you guessed it!) blogs.
