Anglican Communion is a like a quilt, a rich blend of fabrics

This morning, the House of Bishops heard Canon Kenneth Kearon, Secretary General of the Anglican Consultative Council. He described the Anglican Communion as a quilt, according to reports. The amazingly prolific blogger, Matt Kennedy, was there, and he has notes from the speech on his blog.

The Anglican Communion is a like a Quilt, a Rich Blend of Fabrics. There are tears and holes, but sometimes we just have to step back to appreciate the patchwork colors.

Here are Matt's notes from the speech. It's worth reading, because he also describes the House of Bishops -- their meeting space and their deliberations -- in great detail. The speech starts almost halfway down the page of notes.

UPDATE: ENS did an interview with Canon Kearon. Read it here.
